A man who led police on a high-speed chase on Southern California freeways before barricading himself in a North Hollywood home had a criminal record dating back to 1997, according to a complaint obtained by NBC4.
Nolan Perez, 41, allegedly pointed a rifle at officers during the Monday morning pursuit that reached 100 mph, parked in a residential neighborhood, climbed onto the roof of a home and stayed inside until 3 p.m., when he surrendered to SWAT officers outside.
A complaint filed Monday for Perez's arrest warrant detailed a past that included criminal threats against his former girlfriend and stalking, according to the complaint.
The document also listed convictions for three prior violent felonies including corporal injury to a spouse or domestic partner, a felon in possession of a firearm and negligent discharge of a firearm.
Neighbors told NBC4 Perez worked as a painter and had recently moved into his parents' Pacoima home.

"He was suffering from emotional issues," a neighbor told NBC4. "I worked with him. We did painting together many years ago ... I guess he had a lot of problems, and he wanted help."
