New York Teen Surfing Star: People Ask β€œIf There's an Ocean Over Here”

18-year-old discussed her future in the sport with "Today's" Matt Lauer

The next big thing in surfing isn't from California or Hawaii. She's from Montauk, New York.

Now ranked #3 in the world junior circuit, Quincy Davis has her sights set on a professional career on the World Championship tour.

"Some people ask me if there's an ocean over here," Davis, who's been surfing in New York for over a decade, told Lauer on "Today."

Davis even took Lauer for a quick surf, but the acclaimed journalist couldn't hang with her.
