Upper West Side Parents of 2 Allegedly Slain by Nanny Have New Baby Boy

Kevin and Marina Krim announced the birth of their newborn son on a Facebook page they created in honor of Lulu and Leo

An Upper West Side couple whose two young children police say were fatally stabbed by their nanny last year have welcomed a new baby boy.

Kevin and Marina Krim announced the news on their Facebook page for the Leo and Lulu Fund, created in memory of 6-year-old Lucia, known as Lulu, and 2-year-old Leo.

"We are very excited to share with you that Felix Harrison Krim, all 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and 21.5 inches of him, arrived today," the Krims wrote on the page. "Marina, Felix and all of us are healthy and happy."

Lulu and Leo were found dead in the bathtub of their apartment on Oct. 25, 2012. Marina Krim was picking up her third child, 4-year-old Nessie, at swim class when the children were killed, and she discovered the bodies when she returned home.

The Krims have said on their Facebook page that Nessie has been their inspiration, and that she couldn't wait to welcome her baby brother to the family.

"We are filled with many emotions as we look to the future, but the most important one is hope. We are very grateful to you all for your amazing support,” the couple wrote in May.

The nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, has pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

She was hospitalized for weeks with stab wounds police said were self-inflicted after she allegedly killed the children. Ortega appeared in court for the first time in March. She was deemed mentally fit for trial, but her lawyer is challenging that ruling.
