A Georgia father found guilty of murder and other felonies in the hot car death of his toddler son in 2014 was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Monday, NBC News reports.

Justin Ross Harris, 35, was convicted last month in the death of his 22-month-old son, Cooper, who was left in a car for seven hours in sweltering heat in the Atlanta suburbs.

The case drew national attention when it was revealed that Harris, who was married at the time, was sending explicit text messages to women and underage girls.

Harris was convicted of malice murder, felony murder, cruelty to children in the first and second degree, sexual exploitation of and dissemination of harmful material to minors last month.
