Florida Man Accused of Killing Wife Tells Police She Wanted to Die

A 62-year-old Florida man accused of fatally shooting his wife of 42 years told investigators she suffered from dementia and wanted to die.

A Boynton Beach police report says 61-year-old Pamela Kruspe was shot in the chest Monday night outside the Parkside Inn Assisted Living Facility she'd moved into in January. Police say Stephen Kruspe then called 911 to turn himself in and stayed on the line until police arrived.

The arrest report says Kruspe told investigators his wife smiled as she slumped to the ground. He also said he hoped she was at peace and that he was "willing to sacrifice anything to get her to where she wanted to be."

Kruspe was charged with first-degree murder and was booked into the Palm Beach County jail, where he was being held without bond.
