U.S. Activists Visit Pakistan to Protest Drone Strikes

32 anti-drone activistsfrom the U.S. went to Pakistan to participate in a march to the country's tribal areas, NBC News reported on Friday. Over the last eight years, 300 strikes have killed thousands of people in the area. The activists, part of the Code Pink organization, have ignored a U.S. State Department travel warning to take part in a "peace rally" by Pakistani presidential candidate Imran Khan in the remote area bordering Afghanistan. "People are taking great risks to come here," said Medea Banjamin, co-director of Code Pink. "It shows the depth of conviction that we have to say that 'I don't want my government killing innocent people in my name and I'm going to put my body on the line to try to stop it.' "
