Ferguson Police Weigh New Tactics Amid “Powder Keg”

The police chief in Ferguson, Missouri, said Thursday his department is "evaluating the tactics" following a fourth day of unrest over the police killing of unarmed black teen Michael Brown. "I understand that what it looks like is not good," Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson said. He described the unrest in the St. Louis suburb as a "powder keg." "There’s a meeting now to evaluate the tactics. We want this to be peaceful. We need to have everyone tone it down." Jackson said the police department will "facilitate" protests but said tactical units will be at the ready if firebombs get thrown at police.
