Sandra Fluke Files for California Congressional Bid Endorsement

Women rights activist Sandra Fluke has filed paperwork to seek the California Democratic Party's endorsement in a race to succeed Rep. Henry Waxman, who is retiring at the end of the year, NBC News reported. Fluke made national headlines in 2012 after conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh called her a "slut" for asking the federal government to pay for birth control during a Congressional hearing. She is listed on the party's website as one of three candidates who have officially filed to seek the endorsement. Fluke has yet to file her candidacy with the Federal Election Commission.
