It's amazing no one smelled the stash.

An estimated $25 million marijuana garden has been uprooted in Sycamore Canyon within 100 yards of homes.

Los Angeles County sheriff's investigators say two people with weapons were arrested near the 7,621 pot plants in the steep canyon just east of Diamond Bar Boulevard some 25 miles east of downtown Los Angeles.

The investigation began a month ago.

Sheriff's Cmdr. James Lopez says its unusual to find a large marijuana grow so close to homes. The plants were hauled away Wednesday.

Deputies arrested 33-year-old Francisco Rios of Santa Ana and 31-year-old Brigido Ambriz of Costa Mesa for possession of a loaded and concealed firearm. Detectives say Rios and Ambriz are apparently connected to the pot farm.
