SD-Based Sailor Dies in Afghanistan

The 24-year-old sailor died while conducting combat operations in Helmand province

A 24-year-old sailor died in battle on Monday in Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense.

Naval Petty Officer 1st Class Chad R. Regelin died while conducting combat operations in Helmand province.

Regelin was from of Cottonwood, Calif. and had been stationed in San Diego. He served as an explosive ordnance disposal technician to Marine Special Operations Company Bravo.
