SDSU Frat Suspended After Student Death

A San Diego State University fraternity has been suspended following a death of a student inside its house last week.

Barzeen Barzanji, 20 , was found dead at the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity house the morning of April 20. The cause of death is under investigation.

Phi Kappa Theta was informed by the university that it has been placed on interim suspension pending the conclusion of Barzanji's death.

Barzanji was the president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and was not a member of Phi Kappa Theta.

Members of the Phi Kappa Theta fraternity are suspended from activities and chapter related activities must be completely alcohol and drug free. In addition, no guests are allowed inside of the fraternity house.

SDSU police are continuing to investigate the incident.
