Navy Man Dies in Car Accident

The 27-year-old man collided with multiple cars, flipping his Jeep upside down

A 27-year-old man enlisted in the Navy died in a car accident Thursday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.

At 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, the man was driving a Jeep Cherokee SUV south on State Route 15 near Ocean Boulevard at a high speed.

For an unknown reason, the driver of the Jeep veered to the right and lost control, colliding with the left side of a Honda Civic. After this impact, the Jeep collided with the rear end of a Cadillac De Ville which pushed the Cadillac forward and into a Toyota Corolla, according to CHP.

The Jeep overturned and ended up upside down on top of the Cadillac. The driver of the Jeep was pronounced deceased at the collision scene.

The driver of the Cadillac was transported to Sharp Memorial hospital with minor complaint of pain injuries to his head and neck. The driver of the Toyota sustained minor complaint of pain injuries to his back and the driver of the Honda was uninjured.

All the drivers were male and three of the men were enlisted in the military. The deceased has yet to be identified.
