Trolley Strikes Tandem Riders in Logan Heights, Police Shut Down Tracks: SDPD

Two people riding double on an electric scooter slammed into the back of a three-car trolley Tuesday night in Logan Heights, according to police.

Security cameras on the trolley captured the tandem weaving between opposite-running tracks before colliding with the trolley just before 6:30 p.m. near 24th Street and Commercial Street.

Both riders, a man and a woman, were taken to separate hospitals, the San Diego Police Department said.

Both tracks in the area were closed to trolley traffic, San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) said.

Orange Line buses took passengers from the 12th and Imperial Transit Center to the 25th and Commercial Trolley Station.

The detour caused a 10 to 15-minute delay, according to MTS.
