Mistake Leads to Need for Cabinet Replacement

William Hawkins accidentally damaged his newly remodeled bathroom cabinets and ordering the replacement parts turned out to be more work than he first thought.

William Hawkins has an eye for detail.

You can see it when he shows off his 1936 Ford 2 Door Deluxe, part of his classic car collection. That attention to detail even applies to things like his newly remodeled bathroom.

“Completely remodeled, right from the studs out,” William said.

William was happy with the remodel done by Pacific Homeworks but then something unexpected happened.

“A Wick air freshener, the plug in type was laying on the counter and the oil ran off the counter down in front of the cabinet and separated the finish from it,” William said.

Admitting it was his fault, William had laid down the freshener and the contents leaked out and dripped down the front of his three drawers. William wanted to pay for the damage and contacted the company that made the cabinets but they said they couldn’t help him.

“They said ‘We can’t deal with you, get a contractor with a license and we’ll sell to them,’” William told NBC 7 Responds.

After repeated calls to the contractor who remodeled his bathroom, William said no one would call him back. This went on for two months.

“That’s why I called you guys, I’m thinking ‘Well maybe these guys can shake a tree or something’” William said.

NBC 7 Responds reached out to the Marketing and Sales Director at Pacific Homeworks, the contractor hired to remodel William’s bathroom. Not only did Pacific Homeworks order the cabinet parts, they also paid the entire bill for William even though William was willing to pay.
