Firefighters are have stopped the spread of a wildfire near Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in northeastern San Diego County.
Between 10 and 15 acres of light grass was burned and no structures were threatened.
California Department of Forestry and Fire spokeswoman Roxanne Provaznik says the slow-moving blaze erupted at midmorning Thursday near campgrounds off Montezuma Valley Road.
Firefighters will be committed for several more hours mopping up any remaining hot spots.
