A strange device momentarily closed pedestrian and vehicle traffic going into the San Diego International Airport Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The object was spotted inside a car by a valet driver at about 1 p.m., according to an official with the Port of San Diego.

The Harbor Police were called to the scene and closed the roadway in front of Terminal 2.

The owner of the car told police the device was a garage door device.

About 30 minutes later, the scene was cleared.
