A Chula Vista youth football game turned ugly Saturday when a parent was knocked out in a fight with a coach, San Diego police said.

Saivaauli Savaiinea, 32, was arrested for felony battery after police said he punched and kicked Mark Cannon, 32, who tripped over his own feet and fell to the concrete ground, causing him to lose consciousness.

The incident occurred at Lincoln High School at a National Youth Sports Football game.

Witnesses said Savaiinea believed Cannon was trying to recruit one of his best players.
