Police are warning women at San Diego State University that a registered sex offender has been seen around the campus.

Campus police issued a community alert on Jessie James Spruill, 34, saying conditions of his probation prohibit him from visiting colleges.

County probation officials notified the SDSU police department on Wednesday that Spruill, also known as Josiah Joel Palmer, had been frequenting Villa Alvarado Residence Hall and Love Library, according to campus police.

Spruill was convicted of assault with intent to commit a sex crime, and is known to target college-age women, campus police said.

He’s described as 5 feet-9 inches tall, 190 pounds, with brown eyes and hair.

If you see him on any campus, you are asked to call police. t (619) 594-1991.
