Woman's Death in Santee Motel Ruled a Homicide

A woman’s death inside a Santee motel Monday has been ruled a homicide, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s office.

On Monday afternoon, a citizen flagged down a deputy to report a person down at the Rodeway Inn on Mission Gorge Road.

Inside a room, they discovered the body of Julie Ann Marie Ulm, 55, a Santee resident.  Her cause of death has not been released.

San Diego County Sheriff’s officials say a suspect has not been identified, so the investigation is ongoing.

A couple staying at the same hotel told NBC 7 that they saw a suspicious man at the motel on Sunday night, possibly armed with a gun. Investigators could not confirm if they are looking into that man.
