A man and woman meet outside a bar around 3:40 a.m., the woman invites herself back to the man’s condo for drinks and in the morning, the man wakes up to find the woman gone along with $10,000 worth of his valuables and personal information.
San Diego police took that report from a downtown resident on Feb. 21. Now, San Diego Crimestoppers is offering $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of a woman who called herself Melissa.
A surveillance camera in the elevator recorded the woman as she left the man's condo.
“Typically, people that do this, it’s not a one time deal. They’ve been successful in the past. Maybe other victims were afraid to come forward once it happened to them,” said Jim Johnson with San Diego Crimestoppers.
Jewelry, computers, and cameras were among some of the man’s stolen items.
