A vehicle fatally struck a pedestrian in outside the El Embassadora Hotel in El Cajon Thursday afternoon, according to El Cajon Police Department.
An elderly female driver was turning into a parking spot in front of the hotel when she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of her breaks. A female pedestrian was hit by the car and trapped in between the vehicle and the hotel wall, according to Public Information Officer Monica Zech.
Authorities attempted to revive the female pedestrian, but she was declared dead at the scene.
