Police are investigating a sexual assault that took place in a downtown parking structure on Sunday morning.

A woman was attacked just after 8:00 a.m. at a structure at 600 L Street, police said.

“When I walked to my car, unlocked it with my key, sat inside my door and as I grabbed the door to close it, a mid-40s Hispanic man forced my door open, forced himself onto me, sexually assaulted me,” the victim told a local television reporter.

“I screamed for help. I screamed for someone to call the police. I screamed at him. I kicked him with my shoe four or five times,” she said.

Investigators are looking for a Hispanic man in his 40's, approximately 5'6" to 5'8" tall, with close cut brown hair. He was last seen wearing jean shorts and a powder blue and yellow windbreaker, possibly a Chargers jacket, police said.

Officers say the suspect left the parking structure on foot.
