    A woman was raped early Tuesday morning outside a Hillcrest 7-Eleven.

    The rape was just a few hours after another woman was kidnapped and robbed less than 10 blocks down the street.

    San Diego police are investigating the report of a carjacking, kidnapping and robbery in Hillcrest. A woman told police a man carrying a gun opened the passenger side door of her Toyota Prius and got into her car. The woman was driving on University Avenue just west of the State Route 163 onramp around 9 p.m. Monday at the time. Chris Chan reports.

    The woman was attacked in the convenience store's parking lot in the 1600-block of University sometime before 1 a.m., according to SDPD detective Gary Hassen.

    Her attacker was described as a Hispanic man in his 40s, about 5-feet 9-inches and 180 pounds, with tattoos on his body, Hassen said. The suspect was last seen wearing a white top and red pants.

    Police believe the incidents are not related.
