A woman is recovering in a hospital on Monday, after bailing out of a stolen car that was being pursued by police.
Mayra Virella, 18, from Murrieta, was pinned underneath the car after she jumped out of the still-moving vehicle, said Escondido police Lt.Jim Stuard
Two men, who also jumped out of the car, got away, Stuard said.
Police started following the 1994 Honda Accord, Stuard said, after verifying the car was stolen.
The suspects drove the car into a nearby apartment complex and jumped out, when they noticed the patrol car following them, Stuard said.
No word on the other two suspects.
