Woman Hit and Killed in San Ysidro Identified

Cecilia Quenery Valdez, 69, died Wednesday night after being struck by a car

A woman hit and killed while crossing the street in San Ysidro last week has been identified.

Cecilia Quenery Valdez, 69, died Wednesday night when a car going northbound on Dairy Mart Road, near W. San Ysidro Boulevard hit her.

Valdez was attempting to cross Dairy mart Road outside of the crosswalk when she was hit.

Witnesses told NBC 7, she was crossing the street in between cars when the vehicle struck her, throwing her about 30 feet into the air.

Valdez died on the scene.

The driver of that car did not leave, San Diego Police Department (SDPD) said.
