Woman Fights Off Attacker in Elevator

He held a knife to her neck in her Solana Beach apartment complex

    Police are looking for a man who allegedly grabbed a woman from behind when she entered the elevator of her apartment complex in Solana Beach, according to investigators.

    Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call of an assault at 877 Stevens Ave. just after midnight on Wednesday.

    “The suspect held a knife to her neck and threatened to kill the victim if she made any noise,” said Detective Jeff Schmidt.

    The victim started screaming and fighting and managed to escape from her attacker with only minor injuries, deputies said.

    The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male, 16 to 19 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, normal build and wearing dark clothing.
