Woman Dead After Suspicious Imperial Beach Incident

Homicide detectives called to scene after suspicious death

Fire department officials failed to rescue a woman in Imperial Beach Wednesday who was found injured in a condominium.

Deputies from the Imperial Beach Sheriff’s Station received a call at about 3:30 p.m. to assist the fire department at the condominium on the 600 block of Ocean Lane, Sheriffs said.

When they arrived, the woman had already been declared dead, despite lifesaving efforts of the fire department.

Sheriff’s homicide detectives immediately began an investigation, due to some suspicious circumstances surrounding the scene.

The U.S. Border Patrol is participating in the investigation, which is ongoing.

The Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet determined the identity of the decedent.
