A female driver was punched several times during a carjacking in the Talmadge area Friday night.

According to police, the carjacking happened in the 4500 block of Winina Avenue just before 7 p.m. Two unknown suspects – a man and a woman – approached a 54-year-old victim and punched her several times before stealing her car keys.

The suspects drove away in the woman’s silver, four-door 2006 Mercedes C230.

The victim complained of pain in her head following the assault.

Police describe the suspects as a black man in his mid-30s with a medium build and short, black hair and a black woman in her mid-20s with a ponytail.

Robbery detectives are investigating. Officials say the California license plate number on the stolen vehicle is 6RHB253.
