San Diego County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a report of a female jogger attacked on a run Sunday evening.
A white-colored van pulled up next to a woman jogging along Quail Canyon Road and Blossom Valley Road in Lakeside Sunday around 5 p.m., deputies said.
A man got out of the van and attempted to tackle the woman, according to deputies.
During the struggle, the suspect grabbed the back of the victim’s shirt, lost his balance, and caused both of them to fall.
The victim was able to break free and escape while the suspect returned to his van and was last seen driving away, deputies
said.
The victim told deputies she got a good look at the suspect and described him as unshaven, white or Hispanic, approximately 30 years of age wearing a blue-colored Padres cap. She described the vehicle as a white colored “box-style” van, possibly a Ford, with tinted rear windows.
