A nearby bus driver helped the woman, but the suspect escaped.

Woman Attacked Downtown Monday Night

Police compiled this sketch of the man they believe assaulted a woman on 8th Ave on Feb. 13.

The San Diego Police Department is reporting a woman walking westbound on the 1200 block of 8th Ave. had just passed a Hispanic male on the sidewalk when he grabbed her from behind. The incident reportedly occurred Monday night at 8:15.

Police say he put both hands over her mouth. They say she yelled and the two struggled and fell into the street, in front of a parked bus. According to police, the bus driver came to assist her while the suspect ran eastbound on E St.

The suspect is described as 20 to 21 years old, thin, clean shaven, wearing prescription wire rim glasses, a gray hoodie with dark hair sticking out, dark eyes and dark pants.
