Driver Arrested in Wrong Way Pursuit

The driver crashed into a Jeep on 69th Street and then took off according to police

A woman described by police as “very intoxicated” was arrested after a police pursuit in La Mesa early Thursday.

The woman driving a Mazda crashed into a Jeep parked along 69th Street around 3:30 a.m. then took off according to officers.

When she drove away from the crash, officers said the woman was driving the wrong way down University Avenue.

La Mesa police pursued the Mazda for about a mile until the driver pulled over at 75th and University.

No one was injured.

The unidentified driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit and run.
