What's Open in San Diego on Christmas 2015

What's open on Christmas Day in San Diego? Here's a look:

All public building in Balboa Park will be closed Friday but some museums will be open.

If you're considering getting in a round of golf, be aware that municipal golf courses have holiday hours. The course in Mission Bay will close at 4 p.m. Friday and Torrey Pines and Balboa Park courses will close at 3 p.m.

Lake Miramar and Murray Lake will be open for some activities but closed for boating. All city reservoirs and Chollas Lake will be closed.

Robb Field Skate Park in Ocean Beach, Rancho Peñasquitos Skate Park, Carmel Valley Skate Park, Bill and Maxine Wilson Skate Park at 702 South 30th Strreet, and the Charles L. Lewis III Memorial Skate Park on Potomac Street will be open.

All city libraries, recreation centers and pools will be closed.

The Tecolote Nature Center and Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor Center will be closed.

And of course, the all-important question about parking. Will you get a ticket?

City officials say parking meters, time restrictions on parking on streets and yellow zones within San Diego city limits will not be enforced on Friday.

But think twice before parking in those red, white and blue zones - they are enforced every day.

If you're visiting the Port of San Diego, check signage. Rules may vary.

All Trolley lines will operate on a half-hour frequency.

There will be Sunday service on Rapid 201/202, 204, 215 and 235, urban and local bus routes, and Express Route 20.

No service will be provided on Rapid Express 280 or 290 and Rapid 237, Sorrento Valley COASTER Connection, other Express bus routes, or the Vintage Trolley (Silver Line).

Rural Route 891 will not operate on Christmas but will instead operate on Monday, Dec. 28.

MTS Access subscriptions are canceled on Friday, Dec. 25. For detailed holiday service schedules visit the MTS website.

San Diego trash and recycling collection will be delayed on day. Those city residents who nomrlaly have service on Fridays will see collection occur on Saturday. Residents in other cities should check with their waste hauler for holiday service schedules.
