Water Main Breaks Prompts Street Closure

A water main broke in Point Loma shut down a street on Thursday afternoon, according to officials.

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. at Golden Park Avenue and Harbor View Drive. Roughly 1,000 gallons of water gushed out from underground, prompting police to close Bangor and Jenning Streets.

More than 35 customers are without water and estimated restoration time is 9:30 p.m. No sink holes or water damage has been reported, according to the city water department.

Officials are at the scene working to fix the problem.
