A water main break in San Ysidro early Thursday has shut off water to businesses and residents along Beyer Boulevard just south of State Route 905.

Just before 5 a.m., the break was reported in the 3100 block of Beyer Blvd. A 12-inch water main broke and created a muddy mess on the streets.

Water has been turned off while the break is repaired. Crews estimate that water service will be repaired between 6 and 7 p.m. Thursday.
