A vote at City Hall has changed the name of a local street to honor a civil rights icon.
Weston Street in Broadway Heights will now be called Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
The change comes 24-years after voters in San Diego repealed the naming of Market Street to the same name.
The change was brought about through the effort of students on the Broadway Heights Youth Leadership Team.
