Volunteers to Build New Playground at Lake Murray

A volunteer crew will construct a new play area on Lake Murray’s North Shore Saturday

Lake Murray in San Carlos will have a brand new playground come Saturday.

More than 100 neighborhood volunteers are scheduled to gather at 7001 Murray Park Drive beginning at 8 a.m. to build the new Lake Murray Community Park, a community-funded and developed project.

The renovated play area will be constructed in a large grass field on the north shore of Lake Murray, adjacent to Mission Trails Regional Park, Mission Trails Golf Course, the San Carlos Little League baseball and Navajo softball fields.

The outdoor community project is coming to life after more than three years of work, designing and funding by the community and the City of San Diego.

The rebuilt playground area will boast big, colorful playing equipment and a community space that’s beautiful and welcoming.

The crew putting it all together on Saturday is a 100-percent volunteer organization made up of community leaders and locals.
