Victim in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Eastbound Interstate 8 Identified

Ulises Plascencia-Roque, 34, was killed in a fiery rollover crash Sunday

A man killed in a fiery rollover crash on the eastbound Interstate 8 has been identified.

Ulises Plascencia-Roque, 34, died when the BMW sedan he was driving hit the center divider near Waring Road, CHP confirmed.

The crash happened at approximately 4:46 a.m. Sunday.

CHP says the BMW was then hit by a Chevrolet pick up truck and a Ford F-150.

Plascencia-Roque was ejected from his car. Investigators say he may have been hit by more than one vehicle.

The impact set the car on fire in the middle lanes of I-8, shutting down lanes for nearly 8 hours as CHP authorities investigated.

One of the truck drivers was transported to the hospital, complaining of pain.

CHP authorities are investigating whether the driver of the BMW was driving under the influence. One of the truck drivers is also suspected of driving under the influence.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Plascencia-Roque.
