A Pontiac flipped into a river along Interstate 8 and Sports Arena Boulevard early Monday morning. The car rolled into the river bank following a high speed incident.
The woman driver inside the van was found conscious and was taken to a nearby hospital. Her seat belt had to be cut by responders in order to exit the vehicle.
Because the river was at low tide, the car was only trapped in the mud as opposed to flooding.
California Highway Patrol is investigating if another car was involved in the incident.
