UCSD Police Seeking Assault Suspect

UC San Diego police are investigating an assault that occurred Wednesday afternoon

UC San Diego police are investigating an assault on a woman in her 60s that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened just after 4:30 p.m. outside the UCSD School of Medicine.

The woman says she was grabbed from behind as she was walking near the intersection of Gilman Drive and Villa La Jolla Drive on the south side of campus.

She received minor injuries, including scratches, as she struggled with the assailant.

Police are searching for a man in his late 40s to 50s, with brown eyes, medium-length brown hair and a brown beard and mustache.  He was last seen wearing a white or tan polo shirt with blue jeans. The man may have scratches on his face.
