Two Men Holdup 7-Eleven in Hillcrest: Police

A pair of men robbed a 7-Eleven and two of its customers in Hillcrest early morning Saturday, according to San Diego police.

The robberies occurred at about 2:40 a.m. at 430 Spruce St., said Sgt. Robin Rose with San Diego police.

One suspect came into the convenience store and pulled out a gun after asking for a cigarette, said Rose. He then emptied the cash register as the second suspect robbed a man and woman who were in the store, said Rose.

Both men fled west on Spruce St. with an undisclosed amount of money. It’s presumed they were caught on video, according to a media release.

One suspect was described as being in his 30s, with a medium build, wearing a black baseball cap and a white-and-blue shirt, said Rose. The second man was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call San Diego police’s anonymous Crime Stoppers tip line at (888) 580-8477.
