Homicide investigators are on the scene of two suspicious deaths in Santa Ysabel.
San Diego County sheriff’s deputies were asked to perform a welfare check around 6:30 p.m. Monday.
When they arrived to the home in the 25200-block of Mesa Grande Road, they found the bodies of a man and a woman. Deputies described the couple as elderly, but did not release their identities.
The Medical Examiner ruled the death of the female victim as a homicide and she died from a single gunshot wound. The man died from natural causes.
Deputies believe there is not an outstanding suspect based on the evidence they collected. Identification of the couple will be made available once the next of kin is notified.
The investigation is ongoing.
