Turn Him in for $1,000

Robber asked only for prescription drugs

Crime Stoppers released photos Wednesday of a gunman who robbed a North County pharmacy.

The suspect entered the CVS in the 100 block of El Camino Real in Encinitas at a little after midnight last Tuesday, according to detectives. As soon as he entered the drugstore, he walked to the back and threatened a woman working in the pharmacy with a silver revolver. Investigators said he grabbed a trash can and ordered the pharmacist to give him Oxycontin, Vicodin, Xanax and Norco, which she did. He then ordered the woman to accompany him to the back door.

A witness who saw the gunman leave saw what may have been a getaway vehicle -- an older model black Ford Ranger with wide tires and a loud exhaust pipe -- and driver, who the witness described as a 20-year-old white man with blond hair, detectives said.

The gunman is either white or Latino and is between 25-30 years old, officers think. He is about 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build and a soul patch.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward in connection to the case. Tips can be called in anonymously to 888-580-8477.
