Toreros Let One Slip Away

Senior Night ends with double-overtime loss to St. Mary's

Christopher Anderson and Johnny Dee are two of the best guards in the history of the University of San Diego basketball program. Together they arguably produced the most prolific back court the Toreros have ever had. They’re also two of the nicest guys you’d like to meet.

Barring another last-second run to a post-season tournament, Anderson and Dee played their final game at Jenny Craig Pavilion on Saturday night against St. Mary’s. Alas, Senior Night did not go the way they deserved to have it go.

The Gaels got a last-second 3-pointer from Aaron Bright to force overtime, then won 69-62 in double-OT.

There are three games left in the regular season, but Anderson is already the program’s all-time assists leader. Dee is the program’s all-time leading scorer and has made more 3-pointers than any Torero in history.

Just take a listen to the video attached to this story and you’ll get a feel for how much these kids love being members of USD.

The Toreros record drops to 14-13. If they end the season with at least a .500 record, they’ll have a chance at getting one more home game.
