Tony Nominated Director Headed to San Diego

Tony nominations are out and one director is headed straight for the La Jolla Playhouse. Director Rob Ashford has been nominated for "Best Direction of a Musical" and Best Choreography."

Starting in November, Rob Ashford will direct "Finding Neverland" at the La Jolla Playhouse. This isn't the first time a Tony winning or nominated director or actor has made their way to the playhouse, as the theatre company is known across the country for attracting top talent.

Under Ashford's direction "Finding Neverland" will make its world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse.

Ashford is nominated for his skills in directing a musical and for his choreography skills in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."

During this year's Tony nominations one play almost broke the record for most nominations, "The Book of Mormon" nabbed 14 Tony Award nominations. The play was written and directed by Trey Parker and Matt Stone creators of "South Park" and Robert Lopez co-creator of "Avenue Q."

Ashford's "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" picked up eight Tony Award nominations.
