Toll Returning to Coronado Bridge?

Drivers headed across the Coronado Bay Bridge may once again have to pay to cross the span, according to a published report.

Coronado city officials will meet Thursday night to discuss reinstituting tolls as a way to fund major traffic solutions, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

One of those solutions includes a tunnel under the bay.

Motorists had to pay to cross the bridge for 33 years, but drivers stopped paying in 2002.

Thursday's meeting is being held at the Coronado Community Center on Strand Way and is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
