A man holds onto the side of the cliff below Torrey Pines Glider Port.
Lifeguards rescued three people stuck what appeared to be 100 feet or more above the beach in Torrey Pines on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency operators received a call at about 4:25 p.m. about the incident. The three people stopped in spots separated by dozens of feet, each precarious in its own way, below the Glider Port in Torrey Pines.
Rescuers reached two of the people by 5:10 p.m., and 15 minutes later, a lifeguard had arrived at the spot where the third person was. It appeared that all three of the people were young men. A short time later, all them reached the beach below, apparently unharmed.
It's not yet clear if the men climbed up or down to their dangerous positions.
