Three People Get Trapped in Elevator

Firefighters said the group got stuck inside an elevator at St. Vincent de Paul Village on Imperial Ave.

Firefighters rescued a group of three people who became stuck inside an elevator Sunday morning.

According to fire officials, the incident began around 9:40 a.m. at the St. Vincent de Paul Village building located at 1501 Imperial Ave.

Just after 10 a.m., firefighters at the scene called for help from an additional crew to assist in removing the group from the elevator inside the building.

Eventually, fire crews were able to get to the three people. Officials said one 45-year-old patient inside the elevator was transported to UCSD Medical Center after she complained of chest pains.

Another patient was also transported to UCSD, though that person’s injuries are unknown.

No further information has been released about the patients or why the elevator became stuck in the first place.
