Terry's Debut Boosts Gulls to Win

San Diego's newest skater gets 3 points to help beat Milwaukee

The Ducks assigned left winger Troy Terry to the Gulls before Friday night's game against the Milwaukee Admirals. That name might ring a bell.

Troy Terry was a member of the United States Olympic team in Pyongchang and was the 5th-leading scorer in the entire tournament, recording five assists in five games. The former star for Team America has already endeared himself to America's Finest City.

Terry scored two goals and assisted on a third in a 4-2 win over Milwaukee at Valley View Casino Center.

After a scoreless 1st period Terry made a nice pass to Logan Shaw who whipped a one-timer past Tom McCollum for the first goal of the game. Just two and a half minutes later Shaw returned the favor when he dropped a pass to Terry, who carried the puck through the crease and slipped a backhand shot into the net for a 2-0 Gulls advantage.

Milwaukee scored twice to tie it and then the scoring dried up. But with 1:57 left to play it was Terry Time again.

Terry scored the game-winner on a shot right in the middle of the ice, setting off a raucous celebration in front of another big crowd (8,237 fans). Giovanni Fiore scored an empty-netter to put the game away. The Gulls have won two straight and host Bakersfield on Saturday night.
