Teen Dies in House Fire on Camp Pendleton

    A teenager was killed and a firefighter injured in a house fire on Camp Pendleton early Thursday.

    The fire started at 6:30 a.m. in the O'Neil Heights housing area according to Sgt. John Jackson with the Camp Pendleton public affairs office.

    The teenager, identified only as a 13-year-old girl, died in the fire. A Camp Pendleton firefighter was sent to the hospital for minor burns and smoke inhalation.

    The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
