A 17-year-old Tijuana boy has confessed to killing a San Diego professor who taught at three local colleges, according to Mexican authorities. They describe the killing as a “crime of passion.”
The teen was arrested Tuesday in connection with the stabbing death of 45-year-old Henry Abalayan Acejo, according to the Baja California Attorney General's Office.
Acejo's body was found Dec. 19 at his apartment in Tijuana.
The youth admitted the two had a relationship and he stabbed Acejo after the professor kicked him during an argument at the apartment, Mexican authorities said.
Acejo was from the Philippines and taught Filipino language and English as a second language classes at Southwestern College and San Diego State University. He also taught ESL at Mid-City Community College in San Diego.
